Bring Your Own Voice app for iPhone and iPad

I collect voices. I use them in my art. This is a way to give yours to me.

My name is Halsey Burgund. I am a musician and sound artist and I work with spoken human voices in musical compositions and audio installations.

In order to do my work, I need the inspiration and raw material of voices collected from the public. Twelve years ago, I built the Bring Your Own Voice booth and started holding events where people would enter the booth and record themselves responding to a series of questions I would pose via a question sheet.

This idea has expanded in many ways, including this app which allows me to collect voices from a much broader swath of the public.

I hope that you will be inspired to make a recording and become a part of my ever-evolving work.
